Volcanoes

From a few weeks ago... We made 2 types of volcanoes!! FUN!!!

Volcano #1:
Paper towel roll, play dough, baking soda, food coloring, and vinegar.

We put the play dough around the outside of the paper towel roll, and we put the baking soda inside the paper towel roll with a few drops of food coloring. Then we poured the vinegar inside the paper towel roll for the volcano to erupt! We LOVE this experiment!!

Volcano #2:

Diet Coke and Mentos candy

Drop a Mentos in Diet Coke and watch it explode!!

I also made some volcano worksheets for Harry. We also watched several cool videos on YouTube and PowerPoint slide shows from www.teacherspayteachers.com

Pi Day!!

From last week... Happy Pi Day!!!! I LOVE math, and Harry LOVE math, so we take this day very seriously... ha ha! I made Harry a Pi Day shirt, we had a photo shoot, we made Pi pizzas, we reviewed fraction puzzles, and we did several worksheets from www.teacherspayteachers.com.

Growing Beans

From a few weeks ago... Using a sandwich bag, paper towel, dirt, and water, we are growing bean plants! Super easy!! Fold the paper towel in half and place in the bag with some dirt. Then add the beans and water. We taped them to the window so they get plenty of sunlight too.

United States Activities

From a few weeks ago... We spent some time learning about the United States. We made flags, eagles, and a Statue of Liberty. We also painted, learned about the landforms using food (see the picture), learned about the government, and Bill of Rights! Wow! What fun!! I also downloaded some worksheets from www.teacherspayteachers.com. We listened to some cool songs on YouTube too.

Harry can identify the 50 states too!! How awesome! He has a cool United States placemat that I found on Amazon.

Dr. Seuss' Birthday

From a few weeks ago... Happy birthday to Dr. Seuss! We did some fun activities for his birthday. I found worksheets on www.teacherspayteachers.com for us too. I also made green eggs and ham. Harry was definitely not amused by them, but he enjoyed the pink cupcakes! We also did some fun activities for The Lorax! :)
